Abstract
Lifetimes for 18 levels belonging to the 5p 5 nf ( n = 4−8) configurations of neutral xenon have been measured by means of the delayed coincidence method. All the values given in the present work are the first ones to be reported. Theoretical calculations in jK coupling and Coulomb approximation have been performed and the agreement with experimental values is fairly satisfactory.
