Abstract

A method that involves FDTD iteration and the integration of the equivalent surface magnetic current is introduced for determining the radiation field from leaky coaxial cables accurately. The field distribution in the slots cut in the outer conductor of the coaxial cable and the radiation field from these slots are calculated by this method. The whole leaky coaxial cable can then be studied easily by considering the array factor of the periodic slots.
