Abstract

(Abstracted from J Perinatol 2017;37:335–339) Shorter cervical length is associated with preterm birth (PTB), and previous studies have found that women of African origin have shorter cervical length than do white women and are more prone to cervical insufficiency. Cervical shape (a “V”- and “U”-shaped funnel) and changes to cervical shape and length are also associated with PTB.
