Abstract

The article concerns the problem of over-interpretation in the works of Michelangelo Merisie da Caravaggio and Francis Bacon. It also deals with the concept of walking as over-interpretation in the works of Grebeníčková and Mácha. The article explains the necessity of over-interpretation as a key to unexpected meanings and experiences. This is argued through references to Mieke Bal’s travelling concepts.
