Abstract

Abstract The scoping review aims to explore the potential role of insurance as a strategy to enhance the sustainability of agroforestry (AF) systems. It will examine existing literature on AF, risk management, and insurance mechanisms to understand the current knowledge landscape and identify gaps in research. The review will focus on assessing the feasibility and effectiveness of insurance interventions in mitigating risks associated with AF, such as forest stand loss and crop damage. Additionally, it will explore the implications of insurance strategies on the resilience and long-term viability of AF systems. Through this scoping review, we seek to provide insights into the potential benefits and challenges of integrating insurance into AF practices for sustainable land management.
