Abstract

Corporate coaching is a growing practice that meets the requirements of organisations seeking to optimise employee performance and processes for managing human resources. Practice, training, organisation and legal status, major reference criteria in building the notion of profession as envisaged by some sociologists, are used as mapping points to examine the practice of coaching and envisage it as an emerging professional group.
