Abstract

Within the framework of a scattering formalism, the quasiparticle transport in c-axis-oriented ferromagnet– d-wave, as compared with s-wave superconductor junctions is studied by solving the Bogoliubov–de Gennes equations based on an effective tight-binding model (TBM). Due to the anisotropy of the energy gap, the d-wave junction exhibits different conductance behavior than the s-wave case. Experimental measurement on the transport into the high- T c superconductor from a metallic ferromagnet with high degree of spin polarization is explained qualitatively.
