Abstract

The vortex state in a slightly overdoped cuprate superconductor Bi2Sr1.8La0.2CuO6+δ(Tc=31K) has been investigated by scanning tunneling spectroscopy in a magnetic field of 4T at 4.2K. The vortex cores were successfully imaged as the regions exhibiting high zero-bias tunneling conductance with a diameter of approximately 10nm. The tunneling spectra inside the cores show suppressed gap edge peaks and kinks around ±10meV, which is also observed in zero magnetic field. Additional states as observed in the other cuprates have not been observed.
