Abstract

The main method of shaping saggers in insulator factories operating in the electrical engineering industries is static pressing in metal molds. In this method, ensuring singlesided monoaxial compression of the material being pressed, there are typically high losses of pressure as a result of the existence of external friction of the body on the wall of the matrix and internal interparticle friction, especially for articles ofsubstantial height, for example, for saggers. In this case we note a reduction in the forming pressure over the height of the product, which reduces its density upon removal from the pressing plunger. Thus, saggers shaped by monoaxial pressing have an irregular density and strength in different directions. Therefore the working factors of saggers do not fully satisfy the requirements.
