Abstract
We have investigated the quantum transport properties of electrons through multiple-magnetic-barrier structures, where the magnetic barriers are created by depositing ferromagnetic stripes on top of a heterostructure. The transmission coefficient and current-density–voltage (J–V) characteristic are calculated. It is shown that the quantum transport is anisotropic and depends on the transmission direction of the incoming electron. An external electric field strengthens the anisotropy of the transmission. TheJ–Vcharacteristic exhibits negative conductivities similar to a multiple-electric-barrier structure.
