Abstract
Abstract A non-equilibrium Green's function formulation of many-body auantum transport theory is presented here for single-band and multi-band semiconductor systems with a phonon bath. We develop exact expressions for the laws relating to particie number conservation, energy conservation, and momentum conservation in terms of single particie non-equilibrium Green's functions and self-energies, treating the open electron-hole system as being in weak interaction with the bath. A detailed description is provided for single-band and two-band systems.
