Abstract

We develop a numerically exact calculation method of quantum phase dynamics using Pegg-Barnett phase operator for an arbitrary molecule system interacting with photon fields with arbitrary quantum statistical properties. As examples, a two-state and a three-state molecule systems interacting with an initially near-resonant one-mode coherent field are considered. Interesting differences are observed in the relations among the collapse and revival behavior of the molecular populations and the time-dependent behavior of the photon phase properties.
