Abstract

A theory predicting an interference effect analogous to that observed in rotational spectroscopy is presented for the optical detection of double resonances in triplet states of organic molecules. Relaxation parameters that characterize the processes of thermal equilibration can be evaluated from the concomitant spectral lineshapes.
