Abstract

Based on the previous quantum Monte Carlo study of impurity pinning of charge density waves by use of Fukuyama-Lee model in one dimension, effect of applied electric field is investigated near but below threshold. The depinning takes place inhomogeniously at the spatial region where the pinning is rather weak and the quantum fluctuation is large, and the quantum hopping rate between metastable states increases. Such metastable states may contribute to anomalous low frequency response of the system observed experimentally.
