Abstract

A quantitative analysis method for total anthracene derivatives in Frangula Syrup preparation that used direct spectrophotometry at analytical wavelength 524 nm was developed. The technology for producing Frangula Syrup from a decoction of alder buckthorn (Frangula alnus Mill.) bark at a raw material:extractant ratio of 1:3 was elaborated. The error of a single analysis of total anthracene derivatives in Frangula Syrup was ± 4.17% at the 95% confidence level. The content of total anthracene derivatives in Frangula Syrup varied from 0.30 ± 0.02 to 0.37 ± 0.02%.
