Abstract

Introduction: Little is known about ROS generation and scavenging in normal physiological conditions and in heart disease. Further, quantitative ROS measurements have been complicated by distinct sources of ROS in specific intracellular compartments and by potential crosstalk between compartments. We hypothesized that heart failure differentially alters ROS dynamics in specific intracellular compartments.
