Abstract

A method is proposed for analysing quantitatively the structure of polymers and polymer composites by digital treatment of micrographic images. The method enables one to derive morphological parameters of separate particles and to find integral structural characteristics. The most efficient algorithms of image analysis are based on one-dimensional and two-dimensional Fourier transforms. Advantages of the proposed methods of image analysis used to reveal the structure of polymers and its changes are demonstrated on a number of examples.
