Abstract

Information about the export of nutrients is important as it can help fertilization programs and nutrient replenishment. Whereas studies assessing the effects promoted by the application of by-products and residues are scarce, especially in perennial crops, the objective of this work was to evaluate the export of nutrients by fruits of guava trees fertilized with the by-product of the agro-processing industry of the fruit itself. A randomized block experimental design with five treatments and four replications was used, being the doses of by-product: zero, 9, 18, 27 and 36 t ha-1 (dry weight of the material). Annual applications of waste were made between 2006 and 2010. From the 2009 harvest, nutrient content analyses were carried out on the fruits and, together with the production, the accumulation of macro and micronutrients was calculated for three consecutive harvests. The application of the by-product of the guava processing industry influenced the export of nutrients by guava fruits. Nutrients exported in larger quantities, in descending order, were: K> N> P> S> Mg> Ca> Fe> Zn> Mn = Cu> B.
