Abstract

A generic definition of quality system describes the organizational structure, responsibilities, processes, procedures and resources required to maintain high quality products and/or services. In blood transfusion chain setting, a quality system provides a framework in a supply chain setting from a donor’s vein to a patient’s vein through the collection, processing, testing, distribution and administration of high quality, safe and effective blood and blood products.
