Abstract

The article discusses the relationship between failures of steel pressure structures and the quality of welded joints. It presents the basic anomalies observed in the processes of creating welded joints. Tests have been performed on a joint created during a renovation associated with the exchange of water pipes in an SR-25 steam boiler. The destroyed joint was subjected to laboratory tests to determine the impact of joint quality on the failure of the boiler. The laboratory tests revealed a number of irregularities in the repair technology and the compliance with welding procedures.
