Abstract
This chapter addresses the Quality of Experience (QoE) management of multimedia streaming services including its definition, QoE modeling, and assessment: metrics and models, QoE monitoring and measurement, and QoE optimization and control in the context of 5G networks. The quality of service concept has been used in the past for the Video Quality Assessment for the Internet-based video streaming. The QoE for the end users is normally measured or assessed based on subjective studies which are conducted in a controlled laboratory. The QoE monitoring and management of multimedia streaming services require information with respect to the main driver of QoE degradation or unsatisfactory QoE levels in the network or end user's side. QoE is a measurement of customer satisfaction for experience with services. The QoE modeling and assessment provides mechanisms for developing QoE models related to assess the KQIs of multimedia streaming services.
