Abstract

Abstract Raw sewage effluent significantly affected the growth and taste of consumable vegetables such as sugar beet, carrots, spinach. Cauliflower, coriander, lettuce, turnip and radish. In addition, a variety of heavy metals was also present in the waste water. The magnitude of their accumulation in crops was found to be in the order of Na> Ka> Fe> Cu> Cr> Pb> Ni. Crops irrigated with ground water exhibited the least accumulation of these metals.
