Abstract
Objective To investigate the significance of QT dispersion changes after exercise treadmill in diagnosing of coronary heart disease (CHD) and predicting cardiovascular events. Methods QT dispersion changes of 93 patients who had finished exercise treadmill testing was observed and compared with the results of coronary angiography. The differences of QT dispersion were compared between different degrees of coronary artery disease. The incidence of ventricular arrhythmias was analyzed. Results The QT dispersion was higher in the CHD group than in the non-CHD group, with a statistical difference(P < 0.05).QT dispersion increased with the severity of coronary artery disease, with statistical difference(P < 0.05).The incidence of ventricular arrhythmias was 26.9% in the CHD group and was 7.69% in the non-CHD group. Conclusions QT dispersion can be an indicator for diagnosing coronary heart disease by treadmill exercise testing.QT dispersion changes positively correlate with the severity of coronary artery disease. The occurrence of ventricular arrhythmias correlate with the increase of QT dispersion.QT dispersion can be used in predicting cardiovascular events.
