Abstract

SUMMARYQ-banding has been employed to discover the disposition of heteroch-romatin/repetitive DNA in three species of the genus Crinum. The distribution has been observed to be 2.12% in Crinum asiaticum, 10.97% in Crinum latifolium and 18.84% in Crinum moorei. The quantity of heterochromatin has been found to be less in cytologically stable species than in hybrid species.
