Abstract
The radial velocities of the active red giant PZ Mon are analyzed. We have determined the parameters of the radial velocity curve: the center-of-mass radial velocity 25.5 ± 0.3 km s−1, the semiamplitude K = 5.4 ± 0.4 km s−1, and the revolution period in a circular orbit P = 34.15 ± 0.02 days. We have also estimated the mass of the secondary component M 2 = 0.14 M ⊙ and the binary mass ratio q = 0.09, which is minimal among the known active RS CVn giants. A joint analysis with photometric data reveals a large spotted region on the surface of PZMon facing the secondary component.
