Abstract
Dual paths, which are nearly coincident, are used with two photo-multipliers and a single filter to obtain on cathode-ray tubes records of the radiation from rapidly varying flames. Both temperature and emissivity are determined. Calibration is by standardized strip lamp. Successful records of the temperature in the combustion chamber of a large pulse jet have been made. The error at 2000°K is of the order of ±20°K.
