Abstract
Rather than lugging a telescopic pole to the top of a water storage tank to measure cathodic protection (CP) potentials, operators at California Water Service Company installed a PVC pipe assembly inside the tank for sliding a cathodic protection testing mechanism down inside the PVC tube to measure CP potentials. The PVC pipe assembly consists of several pieces of 3‐in.‐diameter PVC pipe configured to act as a conduit guide from the roof access hatch to the surface of the inner shell wall and is attached to the tank's interior ladder.
