Abstract

The main aim of this paper is to reduce the current harmonics and reactive power compensation by using PV fed parallel active power filter connected by a Z-source inverter (ZSI) topology. This ZSI based PAPF capable of handling buck and boost operation without the need of extra DC-DC converter. The reference current extraction of this filter is based on modified PLL-SRF technique. Slightly changed incremental conductance MPPT is used to track maximum power. A Special type of Fuzzy logic controller is used to control DC link voltage and adaptive HCC is used to generate gate pulse generation. The propose system is tested by using MATLAB/Simulink. The performances show that the proposed PV fed PAPF performs good under a non sinusoidal system with nonlinear load system.
