Abstract

Pulmonary functional imaging is an emerging field in which numerous multidisciplinary researchers and clinicians participate. It aims to develop and utilize advanced imaging technologies to measure regional and temporal changes of pulmonary functions including ventilation, perfusion, motion and gas exchange, and to translate the state-of-the-art science and technology of pulmonary imaging into clinical practice to achieve the earlier and more accurate detection of the disease, the assessment of emerging pharmacological agents, and new treatments for the patients.
