Abstract

This study aims to analyze the public labor policies adopted in the State of Maranhão and the challenges faced by the government to promote state growth and development over the period of time from 2008 to 2017, as well as how to characterize the economic trajectory over the years related indices to work in the indicated period, in addition to the years of professional qualification linked to public work policies in the State. In Brazil, the multifunctional profile of its workers was not compatible with market demand, where workforce rationalization strategies predominated, based on the search for new mechanisms to reduce costs, overtime, salaries, and flexibility and relationships. trabalhistas. In this way, this research is characterized, methodologically, as quantitative and descriptive, of a bibliographic and documentary nature. It is highlighted that, in the State of Maranhão, during the period studied (2008 to 2017), despite two efforts undertaken by the government to implement public policies on labor and professional qualification, the initiatives adopted are still not effective and efficient to solve or problem of employment and income management and economic growth of the State.
