Abstract

One-hundred-eighty-six public and voluntary, not-for-profit hospitals were surveyed regarding their strategic planning processes, which were found to be more similar than different. Public hospitals, however, were less flexible, less formal, and more hesitant to adopt the latest strategic planning innovations.
