Abstract

This article aims to discuss the film as a work of art, but also as a cultural and appropriate merchandise for Cultural Industry, and its role as an essential factor of aesthetic, perceptual and cognitive changes, based on the theories of Theodor Adorno. The methodology considers the position of this philosopher in relation to cinema, from its advent, analyzing its characteristics, its elements, the effects of the spectators, the role of industry in the evolution of cinema and its relation to the ideology of the culture industry, the changes that the cinema brought to the theories of art and society.
