Abstract
The literature on the use of tricyclic antidepressants, serotonin specific reuptake inhibitors, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, benzodiazepines, propranolol, buspirone, and other medications for the treatment of childhood anxiety disorders is briefly reviewed. Issues requiring further research are identified. A detailed discussion of efficacy, dosing, safety concerns, and clinical management is presented for each class of medications.
