Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to study the work of the hospital psychopedagogue, and to see if this work is relevant to the field of education and to our society. The aim was to propose, by means of a review study, a reflexive analysis by consulting works, research and academic articles, and with the collaboration of various authors and scholars who research the work of the psychopedagogue in hospital environments in the institutional dimension by providing support to teachers in Hospital Classes and in the clinical dimension by offering preventive or interventional support to hospitalized children in the literacy phase who are away from so-called conventional schools. This is theoretically based, among others, on Blaszko and Portilho (2021), Favoretto (2023) and PÉREZ SOLÍS (2011). The results obtained from this study and through the perception of the authors visited indicated that the work of the psychopedagogue in hospital environments with the teachers of the Hospital Classes is positive and relevant, as well as with the children who are in the process of acquiring writing and reading and because they are in the hospitalization phase cannot attend the so-called conventional school, ratifying its relevance for education and for our society.
