Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the psychological well-being of an individual in connection with trust in oneself and people. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that the situation of social development of a modern person in the postmodern environment, characterized by disintegration of communities and groups formed and supported on the basis of unity of worldview, activity and lifestyle, creates a threat to the psychological well-being of a person, due to the growing distrust of man to himself and people. In the course of the study, the level and substantial characteristics of an individual’s confidence in oneself and people were studied; the psychological well-being of an individual with different levels of trust in oneself and people was investigated; the components of psychological well-being associated with the personal trust in oneself and people were revealed. It was established that the lower the level of trust of a person in himself and people, the lower the level of psychological well-being and its components; indicators of self-confidence and trust in people are associated with the following components of psychological well-being of an individual: personal growth, goals in life, environmental management, self-acceptance, an integral indicator of psychological well-being, degree of satisfaction with daily activities.
