Abstract

It is established that the structure of skills and knowledge of a civil servant varies depending on the categories of his position: higher-level positions are characterized by an increase in the responsibilities assigned to him, which in turn requires a higher level of analytical, forecasting and coordination skills. It is determined that for positions of lower level categories the need for skills and knowledge in information and statistical processing of materials is more characteristic. The components of professional deformation are considered, the factors contributing to the occurrence of professional deformations are determined. The results of an empirical study of the peculiarities of the connection between the personal characteristics of civil servants and the manifestations of professional deformation are presented. There are statistically significant relationships with the level of professional (emotional) burnout of such indicators as neuroticism, depression, antisocial behavior. There is a negative relationship between the indicator of friendliness and the level of professional (emotional) burnout of the studied civil servants. It is proved that an important element of the efficiency of the civil service is the prevention of the development of professional deformation of civil servants, which occurs under the influence of modern socio-economic, psychological conditions of their work. It is established that civil servants of different levels of government with a higher level of friendliness, characterized by a positive and tolerant attitude towards others, have a lower level of professional (emotional) burnout, which leads to depletion of emotional, energy and personal resources. The study characterized a direct relationship between the level of neuroticism and the level of professional (emotional) burnout. A negative relationship was determined by the indicators of the scale of friendliness of the five-factor personality questionnaire and the general indicator of professional (emotional) burnout, the fact that there are some pronounced symptoms of burnout in all categories of civil servants in our sample. The fact of determination of emotional burnout by the conditions of the organizational environment and the specifics of professional activity is established.
