Abstract
The pseudorapidity distribution of shower particles produced in nuclear emulsions in heavy ion induced interactions have been studied at high energies. The thermalized cylinder picture is successful in the description of the pseudorapidity distribution of shower particles in the accelerator energy regions available at present. The calculated results are in agreement with the experimental data of $3.7A,14.6A,60A,$ and $200A$ GeV O-AgBr, $14.6A$ GeV Si-AgBr, $200A$ GeV S-AgBr, and $10.6A$ GeV Au-Em (emulsion) interactions.
