Abstract

Serum-pseudocholinesterase activity has been studied in five patients with orthotopic liver transplantation, and decreased activity has been demonstrated in the presence of acute rejection and cholangitis. Successful treatment of both complications was followed by restoration of normal enzyme activity. Monitoring of the serum-pseudocbolinesterase may be useful as an early warning in the follow-up of patients after liver transplantation.
