Abstract
The following paper concentrates on demonstrating the evolution of one of national stereotypes – the stereotype of a German. For this purpose, surveys conducted among the academic community – students of cognitivistics at the Pedagogical University of Cracow – were investigated. On the basis of that research it was possible to indicate both positive and negative character traits of a typical German.
