Abstract

The text researches on the specific position of the 70mm festival in Krnov (KRRR!) in the Czech and European context. On the case of the first four years (2006-2009) explains unexpected and unplanned changing of the festival concept from technophile into cinephile: from techno-nostalgia (memories on the dead film format) into film-nostalgia (memories on the classical films that you usually can’t watch in cinema). During its existence was KRRR! appropriated by both subcultures: technophiles (for example from Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Germany or Netherland) and cinephiles (for example from Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Germany or Poland). Analysed event gradually combined three approaches towards audiences and films: technophilic and cinephilic; educational and entertaining; local and international. With its specificities became KRRR! quite unique not just in Czech Republic, but in broader European context as well.
