Abstract
We show, within proximity effect theory, that the upper critical field H C 2 ⊥ ( T ) can have a positive curvature when imperfections exist in high-TC superconductor single crystals. Positive or negative curvature in the lower critical field HC1(T) can result from penetration of vortices through normal defects, depending on average defect size.
