Abstract

Women can struggle to make the leap into entrepreneurship. I wasn’t sure if I was ready to be an entrepreneur. I worked with a serial entrepreneur in a role akin to that of an apprentice. Eventually, I figured out that I was ready. I was probably ready a long time before that, but I thought I needed to do my homework. Everyone has difficulty raising money, although it can be particularly difficult for women entrepreneurs. Until recently, there were not a lot of women role models. Two percent of venture capital went to women last year.
