Abstract
Industrial and household electricity needs are the main needs as an energy source for electrical devices. Today the search for new and renewable energy sources and research involving them are found in the world, one of which is a microhydro power plant. Indonesia is a country that has a river flow that can be used as a driver of small-scale power plants or often called micro-hydro. In this study the author tried to make a prototype of a microhydro power plant by utilizing the used washing machine drive as a generator. The prototype is equipped with a complement load in the form of an inductor to maintain the stability of the generator output voltage and frequency when there is a load. The prototype is also equipped with a voltage, frequency, and water flow to the generator using Arduino as a signal processing module. The device is also equipped with a wireless monitoring system using the ESP8266 module and is designed using Labview software. From the results of the observation, the maximum output of the generator is 90 Volts with a frequency of 123Hz (without regulation) with a generator speed of 308 RPM and a water discharge of 127 mL / sec. Addition of complement load on the generator greatly affects the generator output when loading. The monitoring system can display parameter parameters contained in the micro hydro generator prototype.
