Abstract

The initial evaluation of patients with chest pain in emergency departments or outpatient focuses on identifying those patients with an acute coronary syndrome ST segment elevation (STEMI) to provide reperfusion therapy to the patient in the shortest time possible because this time until the restoration of coronary blood flow is the major determinant of prognosis of myocardial infarction (MI). For this we have invested much effort in developing protocols that direct care and treatment of patients with acute coronary syndrome.
