Abstract

Nephropathy is a frequent complication among cancer patients, especially if they have a malign haematological disease. Kidney lesion in malign haematological diseases may be caused by different pathogenic mechanisms. These include direct involvement of the renal parenchyma by the tumour itself, as occurs in lymphomatous infiltration, or as a result of the same, as happens with monoclonal immunoglobulin in nephropathy due to light chain cylinders. Another form of involvement is caused by treatment of the cancer itself, among which tumoral lysis syndrome stands out. In this protocol we will now describe the diagnostic and therapeutic approach to the most important nephropathies associated with malign haematological diseases.
