Abstract
Non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding is a highly prevalent disease in our setting. In recent years, there have been advances in its management and treatment that have reduced mortality and the rebleeding rate. The most frequent cause continues to be gastroduodenal ulcer disease. Hemodynamic stabilization of the patient, endoscopic management, and proton pump inhibitors are the cornerstone of treatment.
