Abstract

Many disorders can impair primary visual pathway (from ocular media to the occipital cortex), and can trigger an acute loss of vision. Thorough clinical history and ophthalmological examination are essential in order to achieve a diagnostic approach. Neurological, radiological, orbital and cerebral examination are required occasionally. Visual and even vital prognosis may depend on our effectiveness in reaching the diagnosis.
