Abstract

Protein sequence basically consists of sequence of amino acid bases. Computational analysis of sequences requires mapping of amino acid bases into corresponding numerical values. Mapping involves various techniques which use the physicochemical and biochemical properties of amino acids in protein sequences, such as polarity, solubility, hydropathy, and so forth. Sequence analysis can be done using techniques like Fourier transform, Wavelet transform and the like. In this work a novel sequence similarity algorithm is developed incorporating an optimal mapping and corresponding analysis method which is superior in time of execution in comparison to existing methods.
