Abstract

Abstract This chapter deals with the office of trust protectors. The widespread use of protectors is a relatively new practice that has grown in popularity in parallel with the development of the offshore trust industry since the last quarter of the twentieth century. However, the practice of conferring certain functions to a non-trustee has been recorded for centuries.
