Prospects of unrelated umbilical cord blood transplantation

Abstract

In recent years, the widespread application of unrelated umbilical cord blood transplantation(UCBT) has provided an alternative for treating malignant and non-malignant hematological diseases. This article reviews literatures on edge-cutting achievements and prospects of cord blood selection, conditioning regimen, pre-engraftment syndrome (PES), graft failure, relapse and etc. in UCBT.
